Call 2018/1

Application period: 1 January 2018 – 15 February 2018

Total volume of funds: CZK 15,000,000

The Endowment Fund provides endowment grants for the following types of projects:
a) feature, documentary and animated film
b) feature, documentary and animated series or episode in a series

The City of Prague must be depicted in the audiovisual work as the City of Prague.

The audiovisual work must be intended for international distribution (distribution outside of the Czech Republic) in cinemas, through television broadcasting, television rebroadcasting or a video on demand service.

An application may only be submitted for a project on which filming began/begins between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2018.

Call 2017/1

Application period: 1 May 2017 – 31 May 2017

A total of 18 applications were submitted for the first call. Six applications had to be excluded from the evaluation, as they did not comply with the formal requirements. The Administrative Board awarded four projects with a total of CZK 5.3 million:

  • Jab Harry met Sejal (working title The Ring), directed by Imtiaz Ali, feature film, India // endowment grant CZK 2m
  • The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, directed by Xavier Dolan, feature film, Canada // endowment grant CZK 1m
  • Tout le monde debout, directed by Franck Dubosc, feature film, France // endowment grant CZK 2m
  • Ein Sommer in Prag, directed by Karola Meeder, television film, Germany // endowment grant CZK 300,000
